I WILL BE REBRANDING AND REDESIGNING THE BLOG!
We will now be Stranger Sights.
There is an enormous amount of love in me for Mediadrome. I loved the name. I’m okay with the look (although there is some functionality that I should have that I just can’t figure out for some reason). But it has come to my attention that there is also a film museum in the Netherlands with that name. And now some guy has started a podcast with the name, and even a similar (has a TV as well as using the SMPTE color bars) logo *WEAK*). I’m not saying this guy knowingly mimicked my shtick (ftr, I choose to believe it was unintentional). But I am saying I find it frustrating and I’m over it.
I also can’t buy the domain name unless I want to shell out $12k (give or take), and honestly, this is all annoying. So I’m just going to rebrand as something else/buy that domain name. If I do that all at the same time, maybe this doesn’t happen again (at least the domain thing – some other person using the same name as me? not sure how much I can do about that, really). Book blogging is expensive, and there is zero income in it. I just want this to be as easy/cheap/not annoying as possible for me while still having the possibility that the site can grow and change with me over time.
And for the record, that overseas Mediadrome Museum or whatever existed long before me, so that was my bad anyway.
But the real, TLDR announcement here is this:
I won’t be posting any content from December 18-31* as I will be busy with the rebranding.
*Except on 12/21, when a pre-scheduled blog tour post will be going up. I know, I should quit being so all over the place about this. Alas, this this is what happens when you schedule stuff in advance… 😊
Don’t be frightened. I’ll be back in the new year with a new, hopefully improved look!
Good luck with rebranding and redesigning! I cannot wait to see the whole new look. I can imagine you may want to do it, though I love your blog’s name. <3 I didn't even know there was a museum in my country with that name.

Ugh to the extra work and necessity of rebranding. But I’m looking forward to what you come up with next.
Thank you! Yeah, I’m just kind of fumbling my way through all of this. Like, I probably could have just left it, but someday I want that dot com, and there’s no way in all the hells that have ever existed I’m paying thousands of dollars to get it.
Hopefully this new one is gonna be good, cuz honestly, right now I’ve got nothing. 😅
