Women In Horror Month 2021 Wrap-Up

If you’ve been keeping up with my Women in Horror posts over on Twitter, you know my ambitions were really high this year.

I put together a list of nearly every woman-written book I had in either e- or physical book that I hadn’t read yet. Although I kept finding more, which didn’t get added since the list was already over-long. I have problems. Maybe I’m a book hoarder.

I got nowhere near meeting my reading goals. But I still read quite a bit.

Here’s what I was trying for.

Physical books:

E-books:

Spoiler Alert:

I didn’t read all the books.

Not even close.

Here’s what I managed to get through:

I mean, 9 books isn’t bad. I’d call this Women in Horror Month a reading success. I read a total of 2,349 pages in 27 days (I am writing this on the 27th because I just know I’m not going to wrap up these other two I’m working on by tomorrow). I’m not going to stress it. I worked really hard for every page this month. And honestly, every single one of these books was good. Some were great. Those I haven’t reviewed yet (all but one), I will be soon.

In the meantime, you can find my review of Jessica Guess’ Cirque Berserk here, and You for sure will be coming out in the next week or so (it’s already written, just not published yet).

Still, nearly 2,400 pages feels pretty damn good. Considering the amount of difficulty I had focusing this month, it feels huge. Is anybody else experiencing serious lack of focus that seems to get worse the longer this pandemic shit show continues? Just me?

What did you read this month? Let me know!
