Update!

I’m trying to write this both quickly and quietly before my friend’s dogs realize I’m still here and demand their considerable body weights in pets/scritches/being let outside to yell at any and everything.

Update 1:

So, we made the cross-country move. We are staying with a friend (the one with the dogs who I can even now hear lurking around downstairs – probably because I’m a very loud typist and they jig, as they say, is up). We both got jobs now *WOOOO* although I haven’t started mine just yet.

We’re hoping to be in a place of our own somewhere not too long after the turn of the year, so hopefully sometime around mid-’22 I might be opening back up for review requests. But I also might not. I buy so many books anyway that maybe I just shouldn’t. Maybe I should prioritize my own purchases. I don’t know. I’m not making any decisions right now.

But know this – if you send me a review request, I might submit your name to a Cursing Circle (pretty sure that’s a thing, and if it’s not that it definitely should be). May bats roost in your empty head.

I kid. But also I don’t. I’m really getting sick of getting requests despite the fact that I’ve had it up on the blog that I’m closed to requests since *checks watch* MAY (you know, 4 months before our house even caught on fire). So, like, come on now folks. Stahp. Stop.

Update 2:

On a personal note, I think we’re both handling this all surprisingly well. I know neither of us are very happy about having been separated from our stuff for so long, but…we’re dealing.

Also, considering that the fire happened right before my birthday, and I had pre-ordered myself a shitload of books, I’m happy to say that there were only a few that came up lost and gone forever. Oh well, I’ll just have to re-buy them when money allows. 🙄

Anyway, that’s all I’ve got for now. The dogs sound restless.
